The basis of this class is script analysis, beats and scoring scenes, and character development through scenes and songs of one show. Typically it was a six-week class meeting once a week, that structure is easily adjustable to meet your needs. It starts with a table read of the libretto, scenes and characters are assigned with each student’s skill set and growth in mind. Each student receives individual coaching on their songs outside of regular class time. I make accompaniment tracks of all the chosen songs, both piano only and piano with their vocal line. There is a final presentation where each student is responsible for writing narration in the style of the show to get us from one scene to the next. This class has been successful with Middle School Age, High School Age & Adult students.
